Senior Big Data Engineer Position

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Big Data Engineer to join our organization. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for defining and executing the Big Data platform vision and roadmap, aligning with business objectives and leveraging Azure services.

In this role, you will lead capacity planning and contribute to PI planning for effective resource allocation. You will also lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing Big Data engineering team. Your responsibilities will include facilitating all Agile ceremonies (Scrum, Planning, Retrospective, Review) and ensuring efficient task assignment and resolution of blockers.

You will be responsible for ensuring reliable operation and continuous improvement of Azure Big Data pipelines and platform. This will involve driving project execution from backlog grooming to release management, including daily pipeline monitoring and P2 issue resolution. Additionally, you will act as a key liaison for business and technical stakeholders, providing clear communication on project progress, performance, and addressing queries effectively.

You will champion data quality, governance, and security best practices within the Azure Big Data environment. To be successful in this role, you will require a strong understanding of Agile methodologies and DevOps practices, as well as excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 7+ years of hands-on experience in Big Data engineering and in a leadership or management role.
  • Proven hands-on experience and architectural expertise with Azure Big Data services.
  • Strong understanding of Agile methodologies and DevOps practices.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
