Junior Expense Analyst Job Description

We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Junior Expense Analyst to join our Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A) team.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Expense Tracking and Reporting: Assist in tracking, analyzing, and reporting on departmental expenses to ensure they align with forecasts.
  2. Cost Control: Help identify areas of over-expenditure and provide solutions for cost control.
  3. Expense Data Extraction: Extraction of Expense reports from ERP system.
  4. Data Cleansing and Organization: Cleanse and arrange the data to provide department-wise expenses.
  5. Budget Variance Analysis: Tagging of expenses as per budget line items to perform Budget Variance Analysis.
  6. Team-wise Budget Analysis: Prepare team-wise budget variance analysis.
  7. Non-Compensation Expenses Reports: Prepare non-compensation expenses reports on a bi-monthly basis.
  8. Ad-Hoc Financial Analysis: Provide ad-hoc financial analysis and reporting as requested by the FP&A team or senior management.
Qualifications and Skills:
  1. Education: Bachelor's degree in finance/accounting or a related field, or ACCA (Part qualified).
  2. Experience: 1-2 years of experience in financial analysis, budgeting, or accounting (internships or entry-level experience will also be considered).
  3. Familiarity with FP&A Functions: Exposure to FP&A functions or experience in expense management is a plus.
  4. Microsoft Excel Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, v-lookups, advanced formulas).
  5. Financial Software Familiarity: Familiarity with financial software (e.g., SAP, Oracle, or other ERP systems).
  6. Accounting Principles: Knowledge of accounting principles and expense management practices.
