Job Summary:

  • The Grants Financial Reporting and SAP General Ledger Specialist is responsible for supporting the financial management, budgeting, and compliance functions of sponsored research projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in preparing and creating new grants in SAP in accordance with donor guidelines and regulatory requirements.
  • Coordinate with finance to assign new internal orders and with Information Systems Team (IST) to create and assign purchase groups for new release strategies.
  • Support Human Resources (HR) approvals for hiring on internal and external grants by reviewing and processing recommendation forms and assist in monthly payroll processing.
  • Maintain and update derivation rules in SAP General Ledger and Human Capital Management (HCM) for new and existing grants and provide support to resolve SAP-related errors and ensure proper mapping of sponsored classes for payroll allocations.
  • Coordinate monthly payroll activities for approved personnel and update SAP derivations accordingly and budget uploads for monthly payroll activities.
  • Process bridge finance requests and keep track of unadjusted amounts, keeping Principal Investigators (PIs), Deans, and Vice Chancellor's office updated.
  • Assist in grant extensions, closures, and transfers, ensuring compliance and financial accuracy in SAP.
  • Manage the financial aspects of grants funded by external donors, including preparing and sharing budgetary reports monthly or as needed.
