Backend Engineer Job Description

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Backend Engineer to join our team. As a key member of the engineering team, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining scalable backend systems.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in software development, excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to work effectively in a collaborative environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design and Development: Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend systems, APIs, and microservices.
  • Code Quality: Write clean, testable, and efficient code using modern backend frameworks and languages.
  • Database Management: Architect and implement database models and queries (SQL and NoSQL).
  • Performance Optimization: Optimize performance and scalability of backend systems.
  • Security: Implement security and data protection best practices.
  • Collaboration: Collaborate with DevOps for CI/CD, cloud deployment, and infrastructure-as-code.
  • Code Reviews: Conduct code reviews and provide feedback to ensure high code quality.
Requirements:
  • Experience: 5+ years of professional experience in backend development.
  • Languages: Proficiency in one or more backend languages: Node.js, Python, Go, Java, etc.
  • API Design: Deep understanding of RESTful API design, GraphQL is a plus.
  • Databases: Strong experience with databases (e.g., PostgreSQL, MySQL, MongoDB, Redis).
  • Software Architecture: Solid grasp of software architecture, design patterns, and system design.
  • Cloud Platforms: Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure).
  • Containerization: Familiarity with containerization (Docker, Kubernetes) and CI/CD pipelines.
  • Security Best Practices: Knowledge of security best practices and authentication protocols (OAuth, JWT, etc.).
