Key Responsibilities:

  • Fleet Coordination & Operations

The Associate Manager – Fleet Operations plays a key role in managing the day-to-day operations of the company's fleet to ensure optimal efficiency, safety, and compliance. This includes supervising daily fleet deployment and vehicle scheduling to guarantee on-time delivery and pick-up operations.

Responsibilities include tracking fleet movements using GPS and telematics tools; proactively managing delays or deviations; collaborating with the control room and logistics planning team to optimize routing and reduce turnaround times.

Maintenance & Compliance

The Associate Manager is responsible for ensuring timely preventive maintenance and repairs in coordination with the workshop/fleet maintenance team. This involves maintaining updated vehicle documentation including insurance, registration, permits, and fitness certificates; implementing and enforcing compliance with company SOPs, regulatory requirements, and safety standards.

Performance & Cost Management

This role involves monitoring key fleet KPIs: utilization, fuel consumption, downtime, maintenance costs, etc. The Associate Manager must identify and address inefficiencies in fuel usage, route planning, or asset use; support budget planning and cost optimization initiatives for fleet operations.

Team Supervision & Coordination

Supervise drivers, dispatchers, and field fleet coordinators. Conduct briefings, training sessions, and regular performance reviews. Promote driver discipline, safety, and adherence to operational protocols.

Reporting & Documentation

Maintain accurate logs and generate reports on fleet status, breakdowns, fuel usage, and trip performance. Assist in audits, investigations, and compliance reporting.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, Transportation, Mechanical Engineering, or related field.
  • 3–5 years of relevant experience in fleet/logistics operations (transportation or logistics industry preferred).
  • Strong knowledge of vehicle types, maintenance protocols, regulatory documentation, and fleet management systems.
  • Proficiency in MS Excel, GPS tracking software, and fleet ERP solutions.
  • Excellent leadership, problem-solving, and communication skills.
