MEP Draftsman Role

Ayra Engineering Consultants LLC is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented MEP Draftsman to join our team.

The ideal candidate will be responsible for preparing accurate mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) drawings using AutoCAD based on engineering designs and specifications.

This is a full-time, onsite position based in Rawalpindi/Islamabad.

The MEP Draftsman will work closely with engineers and project managers to deliver coordinated and code-compliant construction documents.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Prepare MEP drawings and layouts using AutoCAD, and other drafting software.
  • Develop detailed shop drawings, as-built drawings, and coordination drawings for HVAC, electrical, and plumbing systems.
  • Coordinate MEP designs with architectural and structural plans to avoid clashes.
  • Assist in revising drawings and layouts to accommodate design changes and project updates.
  • Ensure all drawings comply with local codes, standards, and project requirements.
  • Maintain drawing logs and proper documentation.
  • Support engineers and project teams with technical drafting needs throughout the design and construction phases.
  • Attend coordination meetings (virtual or in-person, as required) to understand project scope and updates.

Requirements:

  • Diploma or associate degree in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering, Drafting, or related field.
  • Minimum 1–3 years of experience as an MEP Draftsman in a consultancy or contracting firm.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD is mandatory.
  • Solid understanding of MEP systems and construction processes.
  • Ability to interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and sketches.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Excellent communication and coordination skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with international codes and standards (ASHRAE, NEC, IPC, etc.).
  • Knowledge of Navisworks or other clash detection tools is a plus.
  • Experience working on commercial and residential building projects in the US (if applicable).
