Job Description

The role of Freight Forwarding Accountant involves managing financial operations specific to the freight forwarding industry. This includes maintaining accurate records of financial transactions, posting and processing journal entries, reconciling accounts payable and receivable, monitoring and managing general ledger entries related to freight and logistics.

Additionally, the position entails generating freight invoices, coordinating with operations and sales departments, preparing monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, assisting in budget preparation, forecasts, and variance analysis, ensuring compliance with local tax laws, and supporting regulatory and statutory compliance processes.

Required Skills & Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field (CPA/ACCA preferred).
  • 3-5 years of accounting experience, preferably in freight forwarding or logistics.

Key skills required for this role include strong knowledge of freight documentation and Incoterms, proficiency in accounting software, solid understanding of accounting principles (GAAP/IFRS), and excellent Excel skills and financial modeling.

Soft skills such as strong attention to detail and accuracy, analytical and problem-solving skills, good communication and interpersonal skills, and ability to work independently and meet deadlines are also essential.
