Learning and Development Specialist Job Description

The role of a Learning and Development Specialist plays a vital part in enhancing employee productivity, profitability, and safety within an organization.

This specialist directly supports the People Team's goal of creating high-performing teams by managing participant records efficiently, providing structured reporting, and contributing to compliant learning programs.

The Learning Management System (LMS) is managed and maintained by this specialist, including user management, course uploads, enrollment, and system configuration.

The key responsibilities include:

  • Creating live sessions and uploading SCORM files.
  • Ensuring data accuracy within the LMS via reporting and dashboard management.
  • Generating standard and custom reports from the LMS to track training completion, progress, and effectiveness.
  • Supporting the Learning and Development team with logistical aspects of training programs, including uploading e-learning courses, assigning participants, and inviting them to instructor-led training and workshops.

Required qualifications include:

  • 3 years of experience in a learning and development or human resources administrative role.
  • Experience with Learning Management Systems (LMS) administration and reporting.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Suite or Google Suite (Docs, Sheets, Slides).
  • Strong organizational, time-management, and communication skills.
  • Attention to detail and process-oriented focus on accuracy and data integrity.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
