Area Education Leader

We are seeking an experienced Area Education Manager to join our team. As a key member of our leadership, you will be responsible for the overall academic leadership and management of schools and principals within your area. This is a unique opportunity to make a significant impact on education in a challenging yet rewarding environment.

**Overall Area Leadership**
You will be accountable for improving the academic performance of schools and strengthening the principal cohort. To achieve this, you will work closely with principals to develop action plans, implement strategies, and monitor progress regularly. Additionally, you will oversee the day-to-day operations of schools, including fleet management, administrative tasks, and academic data management.

**Relationship Management**
Effective communication is crucial in this role. You will maintain strong relationships with community members, encourage the use of local resources, and ensure that principals communicate effectively with parents. Regular attendance at parent-student meetings and liaison with donors regarding education activities will also be part of your responsibilities.

**Quality of Principals**
Strengthening the principal cohort is a key priority. You will collaborate with the RHR Manager to recruit qualified local principals, participate in assessment centers, and ensure that principals receive regular academic feedback and support through Performance Improvement Plans (PIPs) when necessary.

**Quality of Teachers**
Enhancing teacher quality is another critical aspect of this role. You will assist principals in recruiting local teachers, especially in challenging locations, and conduct classroom observations to provide consistent feedback. You will also work with the RHR Manager to strengthen the teacher cohort through content and pedagogy development.

**Quality of Schools**
Developing action plans for struggling schools and implementing strategies to improve academic performance is a core responsibility. You will work closely with school administrators to identify areas for improvement and develop tailored plans to address these needs. Regular follow-ups will ensure that progress is being made towards achieving these goals.
