Software Development Team Lead Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Software Engineer with strong leadership abilities to lead our team of Software Engineers in implementing requirements specifications.

The ideal candidate will have a background in Software Design, Development, Implementation, and Maintenance, and be enthusiastic about learning new technologies.

  • A minimum of 4 years of Software Development Experience, with Distributed and Web-based Application Development
  • A minimum of 1 year of Experience leading a Software Development Team
  • A minimum of 2 years experience working in an Agile Team
  • Extensive experience with Test Driven Development
  • Extensive experience in implementing and maintaining Code Integration environments
  • Certification, either Academic or Professional, in Project Management would be a plus
  • Exceptional communication skills in English, both verbal and written
Key Responsibilities:
  1. To transform Client requirements into technical specifications
  2. Work with the team to create estimates, down to Man Hours/Days, Timelining through to a complete Work Breakdown Structure
  3. Prioritize tasks based on both current scope and long term vision
  4. Plan, steer, monitor, and report activities of the assigned projects
  5. Translate Technical Specifications into easy to understand English for the Client
  6. Coordinate teams to keep with Sprints, Releases, and Deadlines
  7. Vigilantly adapt to changes in resources and/or requirements
  8. Communicate with Software Development Team, Design team, Architects, and Clients
  9. Establish and maintain relationships with third parties/vendors
  10. Handle multiple tasks with responsibility
  11. Keep progress in check along with maintaining quality
  12. Assure quality and completeness of software deliveries based on internal and industry standards
  13. Review deliverables and execute gate reviews
  14. Create and maintain comprehensive project documentation
  15. Maintain and improve project management processes, optimized towards maximum deliverability
  16. Perform risk management to identify and minimize project risks
