Job Overview

We are seeking a highly experienced Deputy Manager Information Services to oversee the operations of our campus libraries/learning resource centers. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in library and information science, with a minimum of 6 years of experience in a university library setting.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate all departmental activities as a supervisor, training, monitoring, and scheduling staff.
  • Maintain responsibility for collections and delegate actual collection management duties to trained staff.
  • Evaluate staff performance using an approved performance appraisal system.
  • Ensure information literacy sessions align with ISD policies.
  • Implement the university's mission in campus libraries/learning resource centers.
  • Supervise information literacy programs for graduate/postgraduate students.
  • Validate subject guides according to predefined course outlines for assigned faculties.
  • Ensure online access to digital resources for local and delocalized library users.
  • Fulfill research enquiries received online and offline to facilitate research activities.
  • Act as a mentor for assigned students.
  • Participate in academic and administrative committees to represent ISD in university governance.

  • Excellent supervisory and coordination skills.
  • Ability to evaluate staff performance and implement effective development plans.
