Health and Environmental Manager

Job Description:

We are seeking a Health and Environmental Manager to lead our initiatives in promoting health and environmental education in partner schools. The successful candidate will be responsible for implementing the Health and Environmental Strategy for our programs and projects, reviewing and upgrading it as needed, and ensuring close links to climate change and school health programs.

  • Perform a comprehensive health and environmental needs assessment for new partner schools, identifying areas of improvement and recommending strategies for implementation.
  • Develop and implement systems for maintaining accurate health records of school children, including tracking and monitoring their health status over time.
  • Train teachers on health and environmental issues, integrating them into school activities and curriculum development.
  • Provide site-based support to teachers in various projects, assisting them in planning, implementing, and evaluating health and environmental programs.
  • Maintain and update health files, documenting all activities and contributions to our newsletter.
  • Facilitate Whole School Improvement Programs and key activities with other team members, working collaboratively to achieve common goals.
  • Develop health and environmental curriculum and relevant activities, aligning them with national standards and best practices.

Requirements:

  • Leadership skills, with experience in managing teams and projects.
  • Excellent computer skills, proficiency in software applications relevant to the role.
  • Good communication skills, with ability to present complex information clearly and concisely.
  • Presentation and proactive approach, with ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities:

  • Liaise with government and non-government organizations, developing partnerships and collaborations that advance our mission.
  • Participate in capacity-building activities for professional development, enhancing knowledge and skills relevant to the role.
  • Develop linkages with other organizations working in the field of health and environment, exploring opportunities for collaboration and mutual benefit.
