Job Title: Trade Development Specialist

Job Description:

As a key member of our trade development team, you will be responsible for managing and developing client relationships to drive sales growth.

Responsibilities include:

  1. Managing email communication with local clients and foreign agents, responding promptly to their inquiries and needs.
  2. Making daily sales calls to existing and prospective clients via telephone and personal visits to foster strong business relationships.
  3. Receiving rate enquiries from clients and sending request messages to concerned foreign agents with shipment details to obtain fresh rates.
  4. Preparing and submitting quotations to clients in response to rate enquiries, considering competition and company guidelines when marking up rates.
  5. Following up on quotations until acceptance or rejection.
  6. Obtaining business confirmation from clients in the form of routing orders and shipping instructions upon quotation acceptance, and forwarding these to the concerned foreign agent.
  7. Keeping clients informed about pre-arrival and actual shipment status.
  8. Ensuring timely recovery of freight dues for charges collect shipments.
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs):
  • Prepare monthly sales activity reports and submit them to the Country Manager.
  • Dispatch introductory letters to prospective companies and maintain records.
  • Collaborate with the exports department to submit quotations to exporters and facilitate export job handovers.
