IT Support Specialist: Laptop and Desktop Hardware Repair

We are seeking a skilled IT support specialist to join our team as a laptop and desktop hardware repair expert. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining laptops, desktops, and related hardware/software issues.

Job Responsibilities
  1. Diagnose and repair hardware issues in laptops, desktops, and peripherals including RAM, HDD/SSD, motherboards, displays, power supply, etc.
  2. Install, configure, and troubleshoot operating systems such as Windows, Linux, macOS.
  3. Handle software-related issues including drivers, updates, antivirus, and application errors.
  4. Perform system upgrades (hardware & software) as per user requirements.
  5. Maintain and repair networking equipment when required including LAN, Wi-Fi setup, routers.
  6. Provide technical support to staff for IT-related issues.
  7. Maintain inventory of IT equipment, spare parts, and tools.
  8. Ensure data backup and recovery procedures during repairs.
  9. Keep accurate service logs, repair records, and warranty claims.
Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Diploma/Certification in Computer Hardware, IT, or related field.
  • 5–10 years of proven experience in laptop and desktop hardware repair.
  • Strong knowledge of troubleshooting hardware failures, replacing components, and system optimization.
  • Familiarity with BIOS setup, formatting, partitioning, and cloning systems.
  • Knowledge of networking basics including TCP/IP, LAN/WAN, Wi-Fi.
  • Strong problem-solving and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage tasks under pressure.
Preferred IT Skills
  • Knowledge of diagnostic tools and repair utilities.
  • Familiarity with remote desktop support tools.
  • Ability to handle virus/malware removal and system security.
