Job Overview

This is an opportunity to work on a project that aims to bridge the barriers for transgender communities in flood relief and rehabilitation response. As a Provincial Inclusion Coordinator, you will play a key role in establishing a provincial working group to ensure the inclusion of transgender individuals in flood relief activities.

The person we are looking for will have a strong understanding of human rights and gender equality principles, with experience in building partnerships with government departments, humanitarian organizations, and civil society groups. They will be responsible for implementing a communication and advocacy strategy to promote the rights of transgender individuals and ensure their inclusion in flood relief efforts.

  • About the Role: We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced individual to join our team as a Provincial Inclusion Coordinator.
  • Key Responsibilities:
    • Assist in building linkages with provincial government departments, humanitarian organizations, and civil society groups;
    • Advocate for transgender rights-based approach in flood relief efforts;
    • Maintain relationships with stakeholders, including local government representatives, community leaders, media, CSOs, and humanitarian actors;
    • Develop and implement a communication and advocacy strategy to promote transgender inclusion;
    • Supervise and manage provincial-level project activities, providing technical backstopping to district teams;
    • Conduct stakeholder consultations, meetings, and focus group discussions to identify gaps and barriers to transgender inclusion;
    • Document and report proceedings, distilling recommendations for policy development;
    • Support in organizing trainings and events, ensuring transgender participation and representation;
    • Requirements:
      • Master's degree in sociology, public policy, or relevant field;
      • 5-8 years of experience in human rights, gender equality, and social inclusion;
      • Excellent networking skills, ability to build partnerships with government, humanitarian, and civil society groups;
      • Demonstrable experience in policy reform consultation, writing policy papers, and conducting training workshops;
      • Strong understanding of human rights principles, particularly those related to gender equality and transgender rights;
      • Excellent communication, advocacy, and interpersonal skills;
      • Ability to work under pressure, manage multiple tasks, and meet deadlines;
      • Fluency in English and Urdu languages;
      • Good understanding of programs and project management, willing to lead initiative and program team with minimal supervision;
      • Passionate commitment to human rights, including respect for diversity, integrity, and transparency.
