Job Description

  • Main Responsibilities:
  1. Meet annual targets assigned by the Head of Department (HOD) to ensure optimal performance and contribute to the university's strategic objectives.
  2. Collaborate with the Dean/Principal to develop and implement high-quality teaching programs that meet faculty workload policies and provide a superior learning environment for students.
  3. Deliver assigned courses as per faculty workload policy, ensuring alignment with the university's mission and vision.
  4. Continuously develop and refine own teaching skills, contributing to the planning and execution of teaching programs that foster critical thinking and rational discourse among students.
  5. Promote experiential learning through innovative strategies, challenge students' perspectives, and facilitate meaningful discussions that enhance their ability to engage in critical discourse.
  6. Serve as a supervisor for student projects, field trips, and placements, providing guidance and support to ensure successful outcomes.
  7. Evaluate and assess student work and examinations, offering constructive feedback to aid their growth and development.
  8. Monitor and maintain accurate records of students' academic performance for internal evaluation purposes.
  9. Implement the Riphah Mentoring Program, providing guidance and support to 15-20 students as they navigate their academic journey.
  10. Maintain and update data in various software systems, ensuring seamless integration and accuracy.
  11. Incorporate Islamic and ethical values into teaching practices, participating in departmental and university committee activities as required.
  12. Ensure that teaching content and methods align with the RIU mission, addressing issues related to subordinates and student needs in a timely and effective manner.
  13. Conduct random checks on student attendance in classes, labs, and practicals to promote accountability and engagement.
  14. Pursue opportunities for research and publication, disseminating findings through various media channels to advance knowledge and expertise.
  15. Apply research findings to real-world contexts, fostering practical applications and collaborations.
  16. Lead independent research projects, acting as principal investigator and project leader while supervising the work of others when required.
  17. Perform additional duties assigned by the Head, as necessary, to support the team and achieve organizational goals.

Key Performance Indicators: Meet annual targets, deliver high-quality teaching programs, develop own teaching skills, promote experiential learning, evaluate student work, monitor academic performance, implement mentoring program, maintain data accuracy, incorporate Islamic and ethical values, address student needs, conduct random checks on attendance, pursue research and publication, apply research findings, lead research projects, and perform additional duties as assigned.
