Legal Aid Consultant

The ideal candidate will possess expertise in media law, with a strong understanding of free expression, including its scope and limitations as outlined by the Constitution.

• Provide legal consultation and support to journalists and media professionals on rights, safety, and legal challenges within the legal framework and international standards.
• Analyze and interpret laws impacting the media, with a particular focus on free expression as outlined by the Constitution, including its scope and limitations.
• Develop and conduct training sessions for journalists on legal risks, rights awareness, and safety measures.
• Engage in legal advocacy, identifying legislation used to target media professionals and devising strategies for legal reform to safeguard press freedom.
