Data Center Project Manager

We are seeking an experienced professional to fill the role of Central Planning Manager-Data Center. This position involves overseeing the planning and execution of data center projects, ensuring timely delivery, and meeting customer expectations.
Key Responsibilities- HOTO Review & Approval: The selected candidate will review project scope and tenders along with the manager, highlighting risks and challenges. A thorough understanding of the solution offered is essential.
- Project Schedule Preparation: The individual will prepare a detailed project schedule in MSP, defining critical paths and milestones. Clearances required from customers must be highlighted.
- System Knowledge: Hands-on experience (10-12 years) with installation, testing, and commissioning of CCTV, Access, BMS, and Fire Alarm Systems is required. Certifications for commissioning of security and fire detection systems are necessary.
- Project Management: The successful candidate will have hands-on experience in Data Center project management, vendor management, testing, and commissioning processes.
- Resource and Subcontractor Deployment: Ensuring competent resources are deployed at the site to handle the project effectively is crucial. Efficient subcontractors with adequate manpower must be deployed to meet the project timeline.
- Monitoring Site Progress: Regular reviews of design and construction progress with the design and project team are necessary. Conducting site walks with the project engineer to monitor site progress in line with the schedule is also required.
- Quality Check and Audits: During site walks, the individual must check for the quality of installation. Periodic audits must be conducted, and findings addressed immediately. Project engineers must not repeat audit findings.
- Variation Order Management: Creating VO opportunities, tenders/non-tenders/time extension cost escalation, and managing VO of 10-15% project value are key responsibilities.
- Site Meetings: The selected candidate must participate in site meetings, raising alerts for dependencies or clearances that may impact project deliveries. Escalating to the next level of PMC/customer if dependencies are not cleared is necessary.
- Coordination with Cross-Functional Teams: Coordinating with internal stakeholders to ensure project deliveries are met is vital. Highlighting support requirements to the next level in the organization to prevent project timelines from being hampered is also required.
- Maintaining Project Cash Flow: Ensuring timely invoicing, AR collection, and VO management are essential. Pushing for VO with the site team and maintaining account statements for each project are also key tasks.
- Project Completion and Handover: Pre-commissioning checks must be performed before T&C. Requesting technical or resource support from the manager in advance is necessary. Preparing O&M and as-built manuals during the pre-commissioning stage is also required.
