Bioinformatics Analyst

Job Description

The Bioinformatics Analyst will join a team of interdisciplinary researchers studying genomics and epigenomics in different cancer types. The primary focus is the study of mutations in cancer.

The successful candidate will work on rigorous analysis of next-generation sequencing data (DNA, RNA, chromatin, single-cells) from tumor and normal samples. They will apply existing and novel algorithms to cancer datasets, critically review and analyze results.

• Present results effectively to clinicians, experimental and computational scientists">
• Assist in the analysis of biological data using bioinformatics tools and software">
• Perform data processing, quality control, and database maintenance">
• Collaborate with research teams to understand their data analysis needs">
• Support the development and implementation of data analysis pipelines">
• Conduct basic statistical analyses and data visualization">
• Participate in the interpretation and presentation of results">

This role requires strong analytical skills, including critical thinking, data modeling, problem solving, and troubleshooting. The ideal candidate has a strong background in computation and enjoys working in small teams.

Required Skills and Qualifications

A Master's Degree in Computational Biology is preferred or a Bachelor's Degree in Computational Biology is required. The candidate can have experience in lieu of a degree. The ideal candidate has 0-1 year of experience in computational sciences.

Demonstrated experience in infrastructure, programming languages, and computational sciences is essential. The ability to work with open-source bioinformatics software is also required.
