Position: Bioinformatics Analyst at MGH Center for Cancer Research

The MGH Center for Cancer Research seeks a bioinformatics analyst to study genomics and epigenomics of breast cancer, focusing on intra-tumoral heterogeneity, triple-negative breast cancer, and genetic/epigenetic factors influencing outcomes and therapy response. The role also involves exploring molecular differences in tumor biology across different ancestries, contributing to understanding disparities in outcomes.

This position is a joint appointment between Dr. Leif Ellisen's laboratory, the Breast Oncology Program, and the Cancer Center's computational group led by Drs. Esther Rheinbay and Michael Lawrence. The successful candidate will be part of an interdisciplinary team analyzing next-generation sequencing data (DNA, RNA, chromatin, single-cell) from tumor and normal samples.

  • Experience with infrastructure, programming languages, and computational sciences
  • Proficiency with open-source bioinformatics software
  • Strong analytical, critical thinking, data modeling, problem-solving, and troubleshooting skills
  • Organizational and interpersonal skills
  • Effective communication skills, both oral and written
  • Excellent time management
