Database Administrator Role

We are seeking an experienced Oracle Database Administrator to join our team. As a key member of our IT department, you will be responsible for the administration and support of Oracle databases, both on-premises and in the cloud.

Your primary duties will include managing Oracle patch releases, implementing backup and recovery strategies, and providing infrastructure support as needed. You will work closely with other Systems Administrators and IT teams to coordinate Oracle database activities and review recommendations for new Oracle services.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and maintain Oracle databases, including patch management and implementation.
  • Develop and enforce standards and best practices for database administration.
  • Provide technical support and assistance to staff during weekend and after-hours periods.
  • Coordinate database work with other Systems Administrators and IT teams.
  • Review and recommend new Oracle services for implementation.

Requirements:

  • 8+ years of experience in Database Administration, with 7+ years of experience directly supporting Oracle Database Technologies.
  • Experience with Oracle 12c/19c, Oracle Data Guard, Oracle RAC, Oracle Advanced Security, Oracle Data Masking, Oracle Data Redaction, Oracle Tuning and Diagnostic Pack, Oracle Multi Tenant, RMAN, and SQL*Net.
  • Ability to develop and enforce standards and best practices.
  • Ability to interact effectively and professionally with staff.
  • Weekend and after-hours work will be required as needed.
  • Oracle certifications or equivalents are a plus.
  • Experience or knowledge of any other database is preferred but not essential.
  • Financial Services or Banking experience are a plus.
