Job Description

Our company is seeking a highly skilled Network Configuration Specialist to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for the nationwide operation and maintenance of MPLS core networks, ensuring high availability and performance.

You will work closely with regional teams to implement QoS policies, monitor vital network KPIs, and perform routine quality testing. Your goal will be to identify and resolve any issues that may impact network performance.

Additionally, you will be responsible for coordinating with vendors and regions to handle emergency situations, ensuring that all relevant checks are performed before engaging with vendors.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Ensuring Core Transmission (IP MPLS) network availability at 99.999% and taking respective measures to maintain it
  • Providing support to regional teams for Core Transmission (IP MPLS core) network Implementation of QoS for mission Critical services of network
  • Monitoring vital core transmission network KPIs and performing routine quality testing to identify any issue followed by permanent resolution Responsible for ensuring that vital KPIs are within the required threshold values.
  • Coordinating with regions and implementing new core Transmission network entity provided that all relevant checks are done including comprehensive HAT/PAT
  • Keeping record of updated nationwide core connectivity network data and relative documentation including software CDs etc
  • Keeping record of spare parts and intimate regional teams for required spares whenever required To perform health checks and ensure that routines for corrective and preventive maintenance are timely and precisely done
  • Co-ordinating with vendor & regions for emergency situation handling.
  • Ensuring that emergency plan is referred before engaging the vendor.
  • Managing network swap of existing Network with new evolved technologies Reviewing LLD and MOP finalization and approval for major network cut-overs & system up gradations
  • Coordinating with other departments like IT, NSS, BSS, VAS, OMC for routine issues, system integration and up gradations Managing Network Commissioning, Operations & Maintenance service configurations and troubleshooting of IP MPLS Networks.
  • Reconciliation of acceptance procedures for Core transmission entities

Required Skills and Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you must have the following skills and qualifications:

  • Bachelors Degree in Telecommunication, Electrical, Electronic or Computer Engineering from recognized university
  • Minimum 3 to 4 years of relevant experience is required
  • Excellent knowledge of Core transmission network typologies.
  • Excellent knowledge of Core transmission network performance parameters and their interpretation and use Routing, Switching, DCN Planning, Ethernet, Configurations, Datacom NMS.
  • Good Knowledge of Telecom Networks Technologies 2G/3G/4G
  • Good Knowledge & understanding of VAS, PS Core, CS Core, OCS network elements
  • Good knowledge of network implementation/integration processes In depth knowledge of MPLS, OSPF, ISIS, and layer-2 and layer-3 terminologies
