Job Title: Data Support Assistant

The role of the Data Support Assistant is to provide critical support in implementing data collection and monitoring plans, contributing to achieving program excellence.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Actively promote data quality standards within the organization and amongst its stakeholders.
  • Contribute to creating a positive image and overall credibility of the organization by applying data management principles and values with regards to internal and external partners.
Data Management System
  • Gather qualitative and quantitative data at different levels using data collection tools.
  • Support the data management department in developing databases for all programs using available technologies.
  • Implement basic monitoring and evaluation concepts and system according to data activities.
  • Perform data entry into electronic databases as needed.
  • Support in implementing gender analyses and gender assessments, including data collection and analysis.
  • Ensure tools and systems are in place for learning and decision making on vulnerable groups' needs.
Data Quality Management
  • Conduct routine data quality audits at different field site/office-levels.
Sampling Techniques
  • Implement probability and non-probability sampling techniques as appropriate after consulting with manager.
Qualitative and Quantitative Analysis
  • Collect qualitative data and review data from the field for deficiencies or errors.
  • Regularly perform data cleaning and data quality checks.
Mobile and Manual Data Collection
  • Understand mobile data collection techniques and assist data officer in developing tools on mobile data collection platform.
  • Collect data using smart phones/tablets.
Presenting Information Effectively
  • Translate qualitative data from mission language to English and back.
  • Apply data visualization skills to present data.
Knowledge Management and Learning
  • Promote internal learning by sharing timely feedback.
  • Process data visualization using tables and graphs.
  • Support documenting lessons learned.
