Job Title: Lead Data Architect

About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced data architect to lead our team in designing and implementing scalable, reliable, and secure data processing pipelines. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading architecture and development for our Assembly Orchestrator platform, defining technical standards and best practices for data engineering and system design, mentoring a team of engineers, and driving architecture discussions aligned with enterprise data governance and security standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Designing event-driven architectures using Apache Kafka and building distributed data processing systems using Java and Python.
  • Developing workflow orchestration logic with Temporal and creating resilient and scalable data pipelines for SOP execution.
  • Implementing scalable storage and high-performance access strategies, building observability into systems using Prometheus, Grafana, and ELK, and integrating robust security measures, role-based access, and disaster recovery plans.
  • Owning infrastructure design for deployment on AWS (EKS, S3, RDS) and Kubernetes.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

The ideal candidate will have at least 10 years of experience in data engineering or backend software development, 5+ years of experience building distributed systems in production environments, 3+ years of leading or mentoring technical teams, a proven track record of delivering large-scale, reliable data systems, and strong experience in event-driven architectures and messaging systems.

Preferred Qualifications:

A background in real-time data streaming and analytics, contributions to open-source projects, and familiarity with machine learning data pipelines would be beneficial.
