The Ideal Candidate
We are looking for a highly motivated and organized individual who is passionate about zebrafish research. The successful candidate will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Manage the zebrafish animal colony, including feeding, breeding, and maintaining the health of the fish
- Perform genotyping of mutant and transgenic zebrafish using PCR and fluorescence screening
- Isolate genomic DNA from zebrafish tail biopsies
- Assist with imaging, tissue clearing, and tissue sectioning of zebrafish, mice, and human cells
- Participate in the design and execution of experiments related to zebrafish development and disease modeling
- Collaborate with researchers and other team members to achieve project goals
- Maintain accurate records and logs of experimental procedures and results
- Communicate effectively with colleagues and supervisors to ensure smooth workflow and progress
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Biology, Biochemistry, Genetics, Biophysics, Chemistry, Bioengineering, Physics, or a related field
- Prior experience in a wet lab setting, preferably with zebrafish and/or Xenopus animal models
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Attention to detail and accuracy
