Job Title: Health and Safety Management Specialist

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop, implement and maintain an Occupational Health and Safety Management System that aligns with ISO 45001 standards and other applicable regulations.
  • Ensure health and safety processes are up-to-date and compliant with regulatory requirements.
  • Establish comprehensive health and safety policies, procedures, and documentation to support the management system.
  • Conduct regular hazard identification and risk assessments to identify workplace hazards and potential risks to employee health and safety.

The ideal candidate will have a thorough knowledge of occupational health and safety regulations and best practices.

Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • Strong understanding of ISO 45001 standards and other applicable regulations.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively communicate and ensure adherence to health and safety protocols across the organization.
  • Ability to lead investigations into workplace accidents, incidents, and near misses, and implement corrective and preventive actions.
  • Experience in developing and maintaining emergency response plans and procedures.
  • Proven ability to provide training to employees on health and safety policies, procedures, and their roles in maintaining a safe work environment.

Additional responsibilities include:

  • Establishing and maintaining systems for monitoring and measuring health and safety performance.
  • Analyzing data to identify trends, evaluate the effectiveness of safety programs, and drive continuous improvement.
  • Planning and conducting regular internal audits to assess compliance with ISO 45001 standards.
  • Communicating health and safety performance to internal and external stakeholders.
