Job Title: Language Expert for Resettlement Program

We are seeking a highly skilled language expert to provide interpretation services for our resettlement program. The successful candidate will work under the general supervision of the Chief of Mission and under the direct supervision of the COA Coordinator/Facilitator.

The key responsibilities of this role include:

  • Providing verbatim interpretation services between Urdu, Dari, and Pashto during interviews, pre-departure orientation sessions, and other meetings conducted in-person, by telephone, or by video conference.
  • Interpreting accurately and impartially without paraphrasing, summarizing, omitting, or adding information.
  • Maintaining confidentiality during interpretation sessions and following designated program procedures regarding the destruction or maintenance of written notes.
  • Working as part of a team in an international and multicultural environment.

Requirements:

  • University degree in related fields with two years of relevant professional experience or secondary school degree with four years of relevant experience.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and diplomacy skills.
  • Knowledge of resettlement program implementation and familiarity with IOM's administrative, financial, and business rules and practices is desirable.
