Accounting Specialist

This is an exciting opportunity to join our team as an Accounting Specialist. In this role, you will be responsible for preparing financial statements and VAT returns according to Dutch GAAP/laws. You will also analyze and manage accounts receivable and payables, complete bank reconciliations, and validate journal entries with supporting documents.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Preparing financial statements with detailed review according to Dutch GAAP.
  • Preparing quarterly and annual VAT returns.
  • Performing yearly and quarterly closings.
  • Analyzing and managing accounts receivable and payables.
  • Completing bank reconciliations, journal entries, and validating with supporting documents.
  • Maintaining and recognizing fixed assets and leases.
  • Understanding business and private costs through analyzing the client's business activities.
  • Providing directions to junior team members to ensure completion of filings by designated deadlines.
Requirements:
  • Minimum 1 year of experience in accounting or a related field.
  • Working knowledge of principles and applications of IFRS.
  • Able to manage time, prioritize, and meet multiple deadlines.
  • Extensive knowledge of the full accounting cycle for all business processes including fixed asset management, banking, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and period-end adjusting entries.
  • Able to manage workload.
  • Good command of accounting software.
