A key role in our e-commerce team at Stone Age Technologies SIA is available for a skilled Magento Developer. This individual will be responsible for creating, maintaining and upgrading e-commerce websites using the Magento platform.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Designing, developing and refining Magento-based e-commerce platforms and extensions to ensure seamless website functionality.
  • Writing clean, efficient and well-documented code to guarantee smooth operation of online stores.
  • Troubleshooting and resolving technical issues with Magento-based systems to minimize downtime and maximize user experience.
  • Maintaining and updating Magento websites to the latest versions to ensure they remain secure and performant.
  • Integrating Magento with external applications and services to enhance online store functionality.
  • Customizing themes, templates and overall design of Magento-based websites to match business branding and preferences.
  • Creating and managing databases to support e-commerce operations, including data storage, retrieval and analysis.
  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams to identify and resolve complex problems that impact online store performance.
  • Ensuring website security, performance and overall user experience by implementing best practices and staying up-to-date with industry trends.
Job Requirements:
  • A strong understanding of Magento architecture, development best practices and industry trends is essential for success in this role.
  • Experience working with Magento 2.x and its associated technologies, such as PHP, MySQL and JavaScript.
  • Proficiency in MySQL database management and other related tools to ensure efficient data storage and retrieval.
  • Familiarity with version control systems such as Git to manage code changes and collaborate with team members.
  • The ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment, prioritizing tasks and meeting deadlines.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills, analytical thinking and attention to detail to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues.
  • Effective communication and stakeholder engagement skills to work with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
Education and Experience:
  • A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or a related field is required for this position.
  • A minimum of 2-3 years of experience as a Magento Developer, preferably in an e-commerce context, with a proven track record of delivering high-quality results.
  • Magento certification is highly desirable, demonstrating expertise and commitment to the Magento platform.
Working Conditions:
  • This is a full-time position, typically Monday through Friday, with occasional variations depending on business needs.
  • May require occasional work outside of normal business hours to meet project deadlines or address urgent issues.
  • Travel may be necessary from time to time to attend meetings, conferences or training sessions.
  • Work can be performed in an office or remote setting, depending on company requirements and preferences.
