We are seeking a seasoned and results-driven Production Manager with a specialized background in wooden furniture manufacturing to oversee and optimize the end-to-end production process at our facility. The ideal candidate will have in-depth knowledge of wood materials, joinery techniques, finishing methods, and modern woodworking machinery, ensuring that all production targets are achieved while maintaining the highest standards of quality, safety, and cost-efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Plan, schedule, and monitor daily, weekly, and monthly production activities for all wooden furniture lines.
  • Develop and execute production plans based on sales forecasts and inventory requirements.
  • Lead, supervise, and mentor supervisors, line leaders, and shop floor workers.
  • Plan skill enhancement workshops for carpenters, polishers, and machine operators.
  • Review and improve manufacturing processes to enhance productivity and reduce waste.
  • Implement lean manufacturing, 5S, and Kaizen principles in wood-based operations.
  • Educate production staff on best wood handling and storage practices.
  • Deep understanding of different types of wood (plywood, MDF, solid wood, veneer, etc.) and their characteristics.
  • Ensure correct usage of adhesives, finishes (PU, melamine, NC), and hardware specific to wooden furniture.
  • Troubleshoot technical issues related to warping, expansion, joint failures, or finishing defects.
  • Participate in pre-production meetings for new product introductions.
  • Maintain clear communication with Planning & Warehouse teams for material flow.
  • Maintain machinery logs and ensure preventive maintenance schedules are followed.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical/Industrial Engineering or Wood Technology.
  • 7+ years in production management within wooden furniture or wood-based product manufacturing.
  • Proven experience in leading large-scale furniture production floors with high-volume output.
  • Strong knowledge of woodworking machinery (e.g., panel saws, CNC, band saws, edge banders, sanders).
  • Familiarity with ERP systems (preferably SAP or Oracle) for production tracking.
  • Ability to read technical drawings and translate them into actionable production steps.
