Job Purpose
To lead, plan, and optimize the Primary and Secondary transportation network across Pakistan, ensuring timely, cost-effective, and compliant delivery of goods from plants to distribution centers, and from warehouses to customers. The role aims to achieve best-in-class logistics performance while maintaining high service levels, vehicle utilization, and compliance with company SOPs and regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee primary dispatches from plants to warehouses and secondary deliveries from warehouses to customers/distributors.
- Develop and maintain transportation schedules, ensuring adherence to delivery timelines.
- Monitor daily dispatch performance through dashboards and KPIs.
- Ensure on-time and in-full (OTIF) delivery targets are met across all regions.
- Drive route optimization and load utilization initiatives to reduce cost per ton/km.
- Evaluate and negotiate with 3PL/4PL partners to ensure cost competitiveness and service reliability.
- Validate and approve freight bills, ensuring alignment with agreed contracts and performance.
- Conduct regular benchmarking with FMCG peers to identify improvement opportunities.
- Develop and track KPIs such as OTIF, vehicle utilization, cost per km, fuel efficiency, and damage ratio.
- Maintain visibility through transportation dashboards, providing regular updates to management.
- Ensure compliance with transport safety, security, and quality standards (e.g., GWP, HSE).
- Enforce transport SOPs, driver safety guidelines, and vehicle maintenance checks.
- Implement ISO, or BRC-compliant transport procedures where applicable.
- Address incidents and perform Root Cause Analysis (RCA) for delivery failures or product damage.
- Lead and guide regional logistics teams and coordinators.
- Collaborate with Planning, Warehousing, Sales and Operations teams for smooth operations.
- Build strong partnerships with internal and external stakeholders to ensure operational efficiency.
- Responsible for Transport Budget of over 1.5 B Per/Annum.
Experience/ Competencies
- Minimum 5 years of experience in FMCG transport/logistics operations.
- Proven experience managing nationwide distribution networks and 3PL partnerships.
- Exposure to SAP/TMS systems will be an added advantage.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Deep understanding of transport network planning, fleet management, and 3PL operations.
- Proficient in Excel, Power BI, and logistics tracking tools (TMS/WMS).
- Excellent communication and vendor negotiation skills.
- Hands-on knowledge of transport safety protocols and regulatory compliance.
Knowledge including: education, qualifications and training
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, or Business Administration (Master's preferred).
