Role Overview:

GrowthRune is seeking a Backend Engineer with hands-on experience in building real-time systems using and WebSockets. In this role, you'll architect and maintain scalable services that power real-time notifications and analytics. You'll work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure our systems are secure, performant, and resilient.

Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, and maintain backend services for real-time notifications and analytics.
  • Implement WebSocket-based features using Socket.IO.
  • Build secure APIs and socket events with proper authentication (e.g., JWT) and rate-limiting.
  • Write optimized, scalable queries for PostgreSQL databases.
  • Ensure high availability and fault tolerance through clustering and horizontal scaling.
  • Collaborate with frontend, DevOps, and product teams in a fast-paced agile environment.

Requirements:

  • 3–4 years of professional experience with , and Express.
  • Strong experience with WebSockets (preferably using Socket.IO).
  • Proficient in PostgreSQL and writing performance-optimized queries.
  • Understanding of scalable backend architectures, including clustering and load balancing.
  • Familiarity with backend security practices: JWT, OAuth2, CORS, and rate-limiting.
  • Comfortable using Git and working within collaborative development workflows.
  • Experience in designing and implementing APIs using GraphQL with efficient schema and resolver management.
  • Hands-on expertise in working with ArangoDB for multi-model database solutions and optimized data handling.
  • Proficiency in graph database modeling and querying with Neo4J for relationship-driven applications.

Nice to Have:

  • Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and containerized environments (e.g., Docker).
