Associate Technical Support Engineer

Associate Technical Support Engineer will be responsible for assisting in responding to client queries and supporting the installation and maintenance of software applications in staging and production environments. This role involves troubleshooting, monitoring, and coordinating with senior engineers to ensure smooth business operations. The engineer will also document issues, escalate where necessary, and follow up on client queries logged in JIRA or any other designated issue tracking system.

GENERAL OVERVIEW OF DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Assist in investigating and troubleshooting issues under the guidance of senior engineers.
  • Document findings and maintain clear records throughout the support process.
  • Escalate issues to the development or senior support teams when needed.
  • Support in setting up and maintaining staging, UAT, and production environments.
  • Deploy software updates and releases under supervision.
  • Perform basic server log reviews and identify potential issues.
  • Collaborate with QA teams, developers, and clients on day-to-day support tasks.
  • Gain knowledge of capital market domain and related applications.

WORK EXPERIENCE & SKILLS

  • 6 months – 1 year
    of relevant technical support or internship experience.
  • Basic understanding of databases (e.g., Oracle, PostgreSQL) including tables, schemas, and simple SQL queries.
  • Familiarity with deploying web applications on Java-based servers (Tomcat, WildFly, etc.).
  • Ability to review and understand basic application/server logs.
  • Exposure to Linux server environments.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills with a willingness to learn.
  • Good communication and writing skills.
  • Highly energetic with good interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
  • Additional knowledge of financial market systems, protocols (SWIFT, FIX, FAST), or message brokers (RabbitMQ, Qpid, WebSphereMQ) will be a plus but not mandatory.

EDUCATION:
Bachelor's in Computer Science, IT, or related field
