Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Lecturer to join our academic team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in higher education teaching and demonstrate a commitment to fostering an engaging learning environment. This role involves developing curriculum, delivering lectures, and mentoring students to help them achieve their academic goals. The Lecturer will also utilize various learning technologies and instructional design methodologies to enhance the educational experience.

Duties

Provide assistance to the HoD Computing & IT to conduct promotional presentations and activities at various forums/schools/academies to create awareness about TMUC Brand, being the Institution of choice for students. Assisting HoD Computing & IT to ensure student recruitment and retention is on track as per the set annual targets assigned to each TMUC location. Providing assistance and input to all TMUCs in every work related to the Computing program/Computer Science related queries/admissions and CS program in collaboration with HoD Computing & IT. Managing to ensure that working of computing department is smooth in its operational environment. Managing the entire academic records of learners of all batches and to look after all the student's issues which relates to their coursework, lectures, classes, attendance, timetable, assignment brief and all the personal issues etc. Technical dealing of Computing program which relates to the admissions, walk-in queries and email correspondence and all official communication pertaining to your department. Maintaining Counseling records and handling of walk-ins and queries, forwarded by TMUC. Maintain the data files of all learners of Computing Department Coordination between visiting faculty and the learners Course finalizing for semester wise delivery

Keeping all assignment submission before deadline Working on the progression map leading to third year top-up in CS. Arranging site visit for learners. Maintaining the data files of all learners of Computing Maintaining Student and Teacher feedback records on a monthly basis. Maintaining subject/courses records/files Responding to student related and parent queries and keeping the HoD and other heads in the loop at all times. Coordinating and establishing a communication channel with students, teachers and management through text messages, phone calls and emails and keeping the HoD and other heads in the loop at all times. Preparing time tables and student files both digital and manual. Lecturing relevant subjects/taking tutorial classes if and when required. Staying connected with UH SDL team for any kind of technical information required for the smooth implementation of Computer Science top-up year. Assisting HoD Computing & IT in researching and updating on modern lecture delivery methods. Managing existing student relationship.

• Develop and implement engaging curriculum that aligns with program objectives and student needs.
• Deliver high-quality lectures and facilitate classroom discussions to promote critical thinking.
• Utilize Learning Management Systems (LMS), such as Blackboard, to manage course materials and track student progress.
• Conduct research in relevant fields to inform teaching practices and contribute to academic scholarship.
• Employ effective classroom management techniques to create a positive learning environment.
• Provide academic advising and mentoring to students, guiding them in their educational journey.
• Design lesson plans that incorporate diverse teaching strategies tailored for adult education.
• Collaborate with faculty members on instructional design initiatives and program development.
• Assess student performance through various evaluation methods and provide constructive feedback.

Requirements

• MS/MPhil degree in Computer Sciences, Software higher in a relevant field from an accredited institution.
• Proven experience in higher education teaching, preferably at the university level.
• Strong skills in curriculum development, instructional design, and classroom management.
• Familiarity with learning technologies, including LMS platforms like Blackboard.
• Demonstrated ability to conduct research and integrate findings into teaching practices.
• Experience working with diverse student populations and a commitment to inclusive education.
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to engage students effectively.
• Previous experience in mentoring or academic advising is highly desirable.
