Introduction

The Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine at The Aga Khan University is a dynamic academic center which serves the diagnostic needs of the country through its clinical laboratory services that spreads across Pakistan. AKUH's Clinical Laboratory is College of American Pathologists (CAP) accredited and caters to the need of the entire country through its tertiary lab at the main campus and 300+ specimen collection units and 13 stat labs across Pakistan.

The Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine consists of five major sections namely Chemical Pathology, Haematology, Histopathology, Microbiology, and Molecular Pathology. Each section is academically driven and is highly engaged in research and undergraduate, postgraduate teaching and training.

Responsibilities:

Specifically, you will be responsible for:

  • ordering office supplies, dry stock and raise purchase requisitions (PR) and material stock request (MSR) through PeopleSoft and maintain records

  • processing reimbursement requests of all faculty, staff and ensuring timely submission of required documents

  • tracking the status of PRs, MSRs, and payments, and coordinating with the Finance and Purchase departments to follow up on vendor invoices and ensure timely release of payments

  • assist department Manager in conducting department's physical inventory audit and maintaining record

  • make logical arrangements for meetings and take minutes if required

  • maintaining records of highly confidential information and filling in confidential official correspondence

  • receiving and screening incoming mail for urgency, relevant and rerouting of the person concerned

  • taking care of logistic arrangement for events/workshop organized by the department

  • attending to callers and visitors, screening queries and complaints, and coordinating with relevant departments for necessary action.
