Job Description

Senior Consultant Radiologist / Registrar Radiology leads diagnostic imaging services, interpreting complex scans, and guiding clinical teams. This role involves supervising junior radiologists, managing radiology workflows, and ensuring high-quality imaging standards. The incumbent contributes to departmental strategy, audits, and teaching. With deep expertise in modalities like MRI, CT, and ultrasound, they ensure accurate diagnoses and efficient service delivery in a hospital or diagnostic centre.

Key Responsibilities
  • Interpret advanced radiological images with precision and clinical insight.
  • Supervise radiology registrars and train junior team members.
  • Oversee quality assurance, safety, and radiation protection protocols.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary clinicians for patient management decisions.
  • Report and discuss findings in tumour boards and clinical meetings.
  • Manage workflow, scheduling, and prioritisation of imaging studies.
  • Lead departmental audits, research projects, and process improvements.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory standards and reporting guidelines.
Skill & Experience
  • Expertise in cross-sectional imaging (CT, MRI) and diagnostic radiology modalities.
  • Strong knowledge of radiation safety and quality assurance procedures.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration with clinical teams.
  • Leadership skills in mentoring registrars and managing radiology staff.
  • Ability to conduct audits, research, and teaching activities.
  • Proficient in report writing, PACS systems, and medical informatics.
