About the Role:
We are seeking an experienced Mechanical/Structural Engineer with strong expertise in steel structures to support our estimation and client engagement process. The engineer will review client drawings, extract quantities, prepare the scope of work, and assist in finalizing project orders by addressing client queries and providing technical clarifications.
Key Responsibilities:
Review and study client-provided drawings, specifications, and related documents.
Extract quantities for steel structures including square meters (sq.m) and metric tons (mt).
Prepare a detailed scope of work and material estimates based on drawings and project requirements.
Collaborate with the estimation team to prepare accurate cost estimates for client submission.
Attend client queries before and after estimate submission, providing technical explanations and clarifications.
Support the sales team during order finalization by addressing technical concerns and demonstrating expertise.
Identify potential issues or discrepancies in the drawings and provide technical recommendations.
Ensure all calculations and documentation comply with engineering standards and client requirements.
Qualifications & Skills:
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Structural Engineering.
Proven experience in steel structure design, detailing, and estimation.
Strong knowledge of structural components, fabrication, and erection.
Ability to interpret technical drawings (CAD, PDF, DWG).
Proficient in MS Excel, AutoCAD, or other structural design software.
Strong communication and presentation skills; able to engage with clients confidently.
Detail-oriented, analytical, and able to work independently.
Preferred:
Experience in remote project support & engineering work.
Knowledge of regional steel standards and construction practices.
Experience participating in technical discussions with clients and supporting sales.
