The Mechanical Design Engineer – Transformer will be responsible for designing and developing the mechanical structure of power transformers, including tanks, radiators, conservators, bushings, and accessories. The role requires ensuring mechanical integrity, manufacturability, and compliance with international standards while collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver efficient and reliable transformer designs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and develop mechanical components of transformers, including tanks, radiators, conservators, bushings' fittings, and accessories.
  • Prepare and review 2D/3D mechanical design drawings and general arrangement (GA) drawings.
  • Perform mechanical calculations (strength, thickness, pressure, oil volume, thermal expansion, etc.) to ensure safe and robust designs.
  • Ensure designs comply with international standards (IEC, IEEE, ASTM, etc.) and company guidelines.
  • Participate in design reviews, value engineering, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor's / Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering
  • 2–5 years of experience in transformer mechanical design or heavy equipment/mechanical design.
  • Proficiency in CAD software (AutoCAD, SolidWorks, Creo, or equivalent).
  • Knowledge of fabrication, welding, and manufacturing processes.
  • Familiarity with relevant standards (IEC, IEEE, ASME, ASTM, ISO).
