Role summary

AHK Global Solutions is hiring an experienced
Senior Tech Lead / Senior Software Engineer
who will be the technical owner for core backend systems and platform services. This is a hands-on leadership role: you will design and deliver scalable microservices with
NestJS /
, drive architecture and operational excellence, and mentor engineers to raise team standards.

What you'll own

• Lead architecture, design and development of backend services and APIs (NestJS / , TypeScript).
• Own service-level architecture for one or more product domains: microservice boundaries, data models, API contracts, reliability & scaling strategies.
• Deliver end-to-end features: design → implementation → tests → CI/CD → deployment → monitoring.
• Implement and operate production-ready systems (Docker, Kubernetes, cloud infra).
• Drive observability (metrics, logs, traces), performance tuning and security hardening.
• Coach and mentor engineers, run code reviews, enforce engineering standards and best practices.
• Triage production incidents, lead post-mortems and implement durable fixes.
• Collaborate with Product, UX, QA and DevOps on technical trade-offs and delivery plans.
• Participate in hiring, interviewing and onboarding of engineering talent.
• Continuously improve developer productivity — tooling, frameworks, libraries and templates.

Key responsibilities

• Define and document architecture and system design for backend services.
• Build robust REST/GraphQL APIs and asynchronous integrations (message brokers, event streams).
• Ensure data integrity and performance via appropriate data modelling (MongoDB / PostgreSQL / MySQL / Redis).
• Design resilient systems: retries, circuit breakers, idempotency, backpressure and graceful degradation.
• Implement CI/CD pipelines, automated testing (unit, integration, contract, E2E) and release automation.
• Maintain infrastructure-as-code and deployment automation (Terraform/CloudFormation / Helm).
• Enforce security best practices (OWASP, secrets management, network segmentation).
• Monitor SLOs/SLAs, reduce MTTR and proactively reduce production incidents.
• Establish and maintain coding standards, architecture reviews and technical documentation.

Required qualifications & skills (must-have)

• 8+ years
  software engineering experience;
  3+ years
  in a senior/lead role.
• Strong hands-on experience with
  + NestJS
  in production (TypeScript).
• Proven production experience building microservices
  (service decomposition, inter-service communication, resilience patterns).
• Experience with message brokers / event-driven architectures (Kafka / RabbitMQ / AWS SNS/SQS or equivalent).
• Solid database experience (one or more of: PostgreSQL / MySQL / MongoDB) and caching (Redis).
• Containerization and orchestration:
  Docker + Kubernetes
  (deployments, health checks, autoscaling).
• CI/CD and pipeline tooling (GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, Jenkins, or equivalent).
• Strong testing discipline: unit, integration, contract tests and E2E.
• Cloud experience (AWS, GCP or Azure) — production deployments, networking, managed services.
• Observability and monitoring experience (Prometheus/Grafana, ELK/EFK, Jaeger, DataDog, Sentry).
• Excellent system design, debugging, performance tuning and security knowledge.
• Strong communication skills, ability to influence product & technical direction.
• Proven experience mentoring engineers and running technical interviews.

Nice-to-have

• Familiarity with NestJS internals and advanced patterns (interceptors, guards, modules).
• Experience with service meshes, API gateways (Envoy/NGINX/Traefik), and distributed tracing.
• Experience with TypeScript monorepos, Nx or Lerna.
• Background in SaaS platforms, marketplaces, real-estate tech or high-throughput consumer systems.
• Prior experience as an engineering manager or tech lead of multi-disciplinary teams.

Success metrics / KPIs

• Feature cycle time (design → production) and delivery predictability.
• Service reliability: uptime, error rate and MTTR.
• Performance improvements (latency, throughput) and resource efficiency.
• Test coverage and CI/CD pipeline success rate.
• Reduction in production incidents and repeat failures.
• Team growth and mentorship outcomes (ramp time, code review quality).
