Position Summary

The
Head of Public Relations (PR) – Government Affairs
will serve as Japan Electronics' senior-most representative for
government relations, regulatory compliance, and external communications
. The role demands strong leadership, a deep understanding of government protocols, and extensive experience in liaising with policymakers, ministries, and regulatory authorities. The incumbent will ensure the company's strategic alignment with government policies, represent Japan Electronics at key forums, and safeguard its corporate reputation and compliance posture.

Key Responsibilities

1. Government & Regulatory Affairs

• Establish and maintain strong, long-term relationships with
  government ministries, public departments, and regulatory authorities
  .
• Represent Japan Electronics in
  official meetings, committees, and policy discussions
  .
• Track, analyze, and interpret government policies, laws, and regulations relevant to the retail and electronics industry.
• Advocate for company interests through formal communications, proposals, and regulatory representations.
• Facilitate smooth communication and collaboration with government inspection teams and compliance bodies.

2. Public Relations & Media Management

• Lead corporate
  PR strategy
  ensuring a consistent, positive brand image across media and government channels.
• Serve as the
  official spokesperson
  for company statements, press briefings, and regulatory matters.
• Manage relationships with journalists, media agencies, and public communication partners.
• Oversee corporate publications, press releases, and event communications aligned with brand positioning.

3. Policy Advocacy & Representation

• Monitor emerging
  public policies and reforms
  affecting retail and electronics.
• Collaborate with industry associations and chambers to influence
  policy shaping and reforms
  .
• Coordinate the company's participation in
  industry events, trade councils, and public-private dialogues
  .
• Ensure all advocacy and representation activities uphold corporate ethics and confidentiality.

4. Compliance & Risk Management

• Advise management on
  regulatory risks, legal obligations, and government policy developments
  .
• Coordinate with Legal and Compliance teams to ensure
  adherence to all statutory requirements
  .
• Implement government audit readiness, documentation, and reporting processes.
• Manage sensitive communications and ensure confidentiality in all public matters.

5. Stakeholder Engagement & Leadership

• Build strategic relationships with
  public and private sector stakeholders
  for collaboration and advocacy.
• Lead internal teams responsible for
  PR, communications, and government liaison
  .
• Foster a culture of diplomacy, transparency, and proactive engagement across all departments.

Required Qualifications & Experience

• Retired Colonel / Brigadier / Major (Pak Army)
  or senior government official with deep understanding of defense, administrative, and regulatory structures.
• Minimum
  10–15 years of relevant experience
  in government affairs, PR, or external relations leadership roles.
• Proven track record of handling
  policy advocacy, stakeholder engagement, and corporate communication
  .
• Strong communication, negotiation, and crisis management skills.
• Ability to work under pressure while maintaining professionalism and confidentiality.

• Escalation authority to CEO/COO for regulatory exceptions or sensitive matters.
