Environment Compliance Team Lead

Overview:

Environmental Compliance Lead develops the Site Environmental management system and drives its implementation through the application of GEHSMS (Environmental Standards) by designing procedures and programs that prevent any significant damage to environment and surrounding communities. Responsible for leading Compliance the environmental agenda of the site & make sure the smooth operation of Waste Water Treatment Plant, MVRE and other Water reuse equipment in line with PEQS & PI standards, also ensure that the workplace follows all regulations and laws on environment by conducting inspections, evaluating and reviewing the work environment, and enforcing the environmental standards.

Responsibilities:

Provide functional expertise in establishing Environmental requirements:

• Support the site management team in appropriate Environmental Compliance & Provide leadership at site to enable Environmental Management
• Liaise with all site personnel to ensure effective use of best practice and consistency in approach to environmental activities
• Promote a risk-based approach to Environmental management
• Effectively support the implementation of following Requirements:
• Lead initiatives to promote visible and pro-active environmental management commitment
• Development and Implementation of GEHSMS Environmental Management Standards local programs (Discharge of Waste Water, Waste Management System, Storm Water Management, Air Quality Management System, Spill Prevention etc.) and procurement of Environment Monitoring equipment's.
• Ensure smooth operation of MVRE and support in maintenance activities. Liaison with OEM where needed.
• Acquiring NOCs Plant Capacity enhancements and Environmental Legal Compliance actions closure as per Sundar Plant Operational Phase Environmental Approval and BioMass Boiler Environmental Approvals.
• Updation and execution of Environment Management Plan of Sundar Plant, review and liaison with 3P Consultants for IEE and EIA studies as per site demands.
• Provide Guidance on Troubleshoot technical issues relating to WWTP operation and lab testing
• Coordination with 3P Consultants and Labs for Quarterly Environment Monitoring of Air Emissions, Liquid Effluents, Ambient Air Quality, Noise etc.
• Participate in workplace activities to raise the quality of environmental input, including environmental aspect impact assessments and environmental incident investigation
• Coordinate with vendors, suppliers and maintenance departments for Reliable WWTP operation and Inventory Management for smooth WWTP & Lab operations

Adopt a governance role to check compliance with these requirements:

• Provide oversight to ensure all site activities have effective environmental management system
• Implementation of EPA new Regulations, handling of routine Environmental Inspections and responding to queries and compliance concerns.
• Implementation of New MPC Requirements, equipment's procurement, WWTP operational monitoring, development of SOPs and WWTP Operators Capability building on MPC and new analysis methods
• Provide technical support for environmental legal actions to ensure compliance with environmental regulations.
• Due diligence of waste management process as per EPA guidelines.

Monitor and review Environmental performance to drive continual improvement:

• Develop a holistic strategy and implementation plan for Smooth Operations of WWTP
• Implementation of WWTP SOPs, troubleshooting of technical issues related to plant and testing laboratory in order to achieve Environmental compliance against NEQS & PepsiCo standards
• Support HSE Manager to sustain ISO 14001 certification by fulfilling all the requirements and providing guidance and support to other functions
• Lead WWTP Fit for Purpose Assessment Study and implementation of action plans.
• myEHS Water Module Implementation & Reporting
• Participate in and facilitate Environmental audits, against Environmental Standards, reviews & assessments develops action plans & monitoring the progress.
• Stimulate improvements to Standard operating procedures and work practices
• Support the collecting, storing, analyzing, tracking and reporting of WWTP performance data (e.g. Incident report findings, parameters Monitoring Sheet, Daily Log Sheet etc. )
• Support in celebration of global Environmental campaigns
• Engage with external stakeholders (e.g. local regulators, local communities etc.) on Environmental management topics to build long term, positive relationships.
• Ensure training of PepsiCo employers to help them take ownership in leading & managing Environmental Sustainability within their respective areas

Overall Site Environment and WWTP Compliance support to HSE Manager for all aforementioned cyclic tasks and routines handling.
