The Role
Reporting directly to stakeholders, Chief Marketing Officer is responsible for building and leading the marketing team, driving a culture of results and establishing marketing as a key contributor to the ongoing success and trajectory of the company.
Specifically, The CMO Will
The CMO plays a critical role in the future growth and positioning of the business, and will be an influential member of the executive team having responsibility for all marketing activities that will build the business's brand, leading to increased revenue, awareness, and relevance among the business's target audience.
- Build and develop a great team of marketers who are creative, collaborative and produce results. The team needs to work well together, be accountable and metrics driven. Additionally, the team needs to be focused on the big picture - meeting company growth goals.
- Develop and implement a comprehensive marketing strategy that is aligned with the company's aggressive revenue, client retention, and strategic growth goals.
- Define and implement operational metrics, KPIs and other measurements of success that measure, optimize and continually improve efficiency and effectiveness of marketing programs, tactics, and strategy.
- Define demand generation strategy working closely with other teams and leveraging historical campaign results: forecast lead and budget plans that align to company quarterly bookings goals.
- Collaborate with the product teams on company's product-led growth motion, and with other revenue-driving team members to ensure MQLs are followed up, get feedback on scoring quality, MQL conversions, align on marketing nurtures and sales cadences
- Determine the best program mix for generating awareness and acquiring new customers and improve strategy continuously by measuring performance and cost per acquisition, adjusting the channel mix and messages as necessary, experimenting with approaches spanning SEO/SEM, social media and other nontraditional media channels to drive demand.
- Manage and monitor marketing resources and spends to ensure that each action is optimized in its effectiveness, quality, and that there is a clear mindset of measurement (ROI marketing) within the team.
- Work cross-functionally with key stakeholders in sales, customer success and product functions to ensure that marketing efforts are aligned with the product roadmap, sales initiatives, and the overall growth strategy of the business.
Our Ideal Candidate Has
- Proven track record in building through experiments and data, getting buy-in and executing marketing plans and ROI based budgets
- Knowledge of all aspects of marketing – demand generation, product marketing, content creation, communications, partner marketing; likely to have a T-shaped profile where he or she has experience spanning all parts of the marketing stack, with depth in demand
- Data driven with experience and strong understanding of setting campaign targets, tracking and reporting on results
- Experienced with a range of go-to-market motions, from high velocity through enterprise. Skilled at crafting an account based marketing strategy.
- Highly inspirational and disciplined leader who inspires and optimizes effectiveness among diverse teams
- Compelling executive presence in front of customers, partners, employees, board members and investors
