Schedule: 6:00 PM - 9:00 PM (on assigned days) Contract Duration: Minimum 3 months (subject to program schedule)

We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Data Analyst to join us as a short-term Course Instructor and Facilitator for our upcoming cohort.

Role Summary:

The primary role of the Instructor is to facilitate and enhance the learning experience for trainees enrolled in the IBM Data Analyst Professional Certificate on Coursera. You will be the key link between the online curriculum and the trainees, providing in-person explanations, leading practical data analysis exercises, resolving doubts, and guiding projects. Your expertise will bridge the gap between theoretical knowledge and practical application, equipping trainees with the skills to collect, clean, analyze, and visualize data to drive informed business decisions.

Key Responsibilities:

Classroom Instruction & Facilitation: Conduct engaging and effective in-person classroom sessions between 6:00 PM and 9:00 PM, focusing on the core concepts covered in the online modules.

Doubt Resolution: Provide clear explanations and troubleshoot trainee queries related to the course content, including Excel, SQL, Python, data visualization, and statistical analysis.

Hands-On Labs & Demonstrations: Lead practical sessions using tools like Jupyter Notebooks, Excel, and SQL databases. Guide trainees through data cleaning, manipulation, analysis, and visualization techniques.

Project Guidance: Mentor and assist trainees in understanding, developing, and completing the capstone projects required for the certificate, offering feedback on their methodology, analysis, and presentation of insights.

Curriculum Support: Supplement the Coursera material with additional datasets, real-world business scenarios, and industry insights to provide context and depth to the learning.

Progress Monitoring: Track trainee progress through the online platform, identify individuals who are falling behind, and provide additional support to ensure cohort success.

Feedback & Assessment: Administer in-class exercises or mini-case studies to gauge understanding and provide constructive feedback to trainees on their analytical approach.

Qualifications & Experience:

Mandatory:

Minimum of 3-5 years of professional experience in data analysis or a related field (e.g., business intelligence, data analytics).

Proven expertise in the core technologies and languages of the certificate:

Data Analysis & Visualization: Microsoft Excel (PivotTables, Charts, Functions), Tableau, or similar BI tools.

Databases & SQL: Proficiency in writing SQL queries to extract and manipulate data from relational databases.

Programming for Data Analysis: Python programming with a strong focus on libraries such as Pandas, NumPy, and Matplotlib/Seaborn for data manipulation and visualization.

Statistical Foundations: Understanding of descriptive statistics and basic inferential statistics.

Prior experience in teaching, training, mentoring, or conducting technical workshops.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to explain complex data concepts and tell stories with data in an easy-to-understand manner.

Highly Desirable:

Experience with the specific tools mentioned in the course: Jupyter Notebooks, Cognos Analytics.

Knowledge of data collection methods and data warehousing concepts.

Experience with GitHub for version control and project collaboration.

Familiarity with the data analysis lifecycle and CRISP-DM methodology.

Prior experience as a facilitator for blended learning or bootcamp-style programs.

Contractual Details:

Term: This is a short-term contractual role for the duration of the program, with a minimum commitment of 3 months.

Schedule: On-campus presence is required for classes scheduled between 6:00 PM and 9:00 PM on specific days of the week (to be determined).

Remuneration: A competitive fixed contract fee will be offered, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
