Founded in 1988, Hellenic Systems Ltd specialises in providing cutting-edge solutions for the food and manufacturing industries. Today, we serve over 170 food factories across the UK and Europe, covering everything from primary processing to added-value operations.

As a UK-based manufacturer of specialised computer systems, one of our core strengths lies in our ability to deliver diverse application design solutions while also offering standardised packages. The Position
We are looking for a highly skilled Senior Web Developer with a full-stack background and excellent backend development skills to join our dynamic development team. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in Software and Web Development using modern technologies and latest development practices. This role involves designing, developing, and maintaining scalable web applications and backend APIs while collaborating closely with cross-functional teams to deliver exceptional user experiences. The individual will thrive in a fast-paced environment, solving complex problems and delivering bespoke technical solutions.

The selected candidate will work out of the Contour Software Karachi office, as an extension of the division-based R&D department.

Key Responsibilities

• Build and maintain scalable APIs and server-side logic using .NET and PHP.
• Create intuitive and visually appealing user interfaces using Angular and modern front-end technologies.
• Design, build, and maintain responsive and dynamic web applications using .NET, PHP, and Angular.
• Develop and optimize databases for transactional and reporting efficiencies using SQL Server.
• Set up and maintain robust CI/CD pipelines for seamless code integration, testing, and deployment.
• Ensure clean, efficient, and maintainable code through peer reviews, unit testing, and automated testing.
• Work closely with internal stakeholders, clients and other developers to define requirements and deliver solutions on time.
• Identify and resolve technical issues in a timely and efficient manner.
• Maintain comprehensive technical documentation for projects.
• Play a key role in identifying and championing improvements in the areas of technology, process, and product.
• Performance and scalability improvement and refactoring of legacy codebase including introducing new features or fixing bugs.

Required Skills And Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
• 5+ years of experience in web development and software engineering.
• Proficiency in .NET (C#), .NET Core, RESTful APIs, and Microservices/SOA.
• Strong experience with Angular, HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
• Expertise in SQL Server, T-SQL, schema design, and performance optimization.
• Experience with nUnit, xUnit, and mocking frameworks.
• Familiarity with automated testing, code coverage, and continuous quality practices.
• Experience with code reviews, static code analysis tools, and maintaining coding standards.
• Skilled in code optimization, including refactoring legacy code and introducing new features.
• Strong grasp of architecture, design patterns, and clean code principles.
• Knowledge of secure coding practices and compliance awareness.
• Experience optimizing and scaling applications for high performance.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to debug and resolve complex issues.
• Experience with Agile and other software development methodologies.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills to convey technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Ability to work effectively in a collaborative, cross-functional team environment.
• Experience working with and modernizing legacy technology.

Preferred Qualifications

• Familiarity with PHP.
• Experience with Azure (preferred) or other major cloud platforms.
• Knowledge of CI/CD tools (Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, Jenkins).
• Experience with DevOps tools (Docker, Kubernetes, Git flow).
• Familiarity with application monitoring/logging tools (Azure App Insights, ELK, Serilog).
• Experience with AI-assisted development tools (e.g., GitHub Copilot, ChatGPT).
• Familiarity with Azure AI services (Cognitive Search, Computer Vision, etc.) and integrating them into .NET applications.
• Understanding of machine learning concepts and consuming AI/ML APIs.
• Exposure to AI in testing, bug detection, and documentation workflows.
• Exposure to data engineering practices and working with large datasets.
