Job Overview

Meta Matrix Solutions is looking for a detail-oriented and proactive
Patient Eligibility, Benefits & Insurance Verification Specialist
to join our Front Office Operations team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for verifying patient insurance coverage, understanding benefits, confirming authorizations, and ensuring accurate financial information prior to patient appointments. This role is critical in ensuring smooth operations, minimizing claim denials, and supporting our US-based healthcare clients.

Key ResponsibilitiesInsurance Verification & Eligibility

  • Verify patient insurance coverage through online portals, clearinghouses, and direct calls to insurance companies.
  • Check plan type (HMO, PPO, EPO, POS), effective dates, and service-specific coverage.
  • Confirm copays, deductibles, coinsurance, out-of-pocket limits, and coverage levels.
  • Determine primary vs. secondary insurance and assist with coordination of benefits (COB).
  • Accurately document all insurance details into the client's EHR/EMR system.

Authorization & Pre-Certifications

  • Determine whether prior authorization is required for specific procedures or services.
  • Initiate and follow up on authorization requests through payer portals or phone calls.
  • Notify providers and scheduling teams regarding approval, pending status, or denial.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • 1–3 years of experience in
    insurance verification
    ,
    medical billing
    , or
    front office healthcare operations
    .
  • Strong understanding of US healthcare insurance: copays, deductibles, coinsurance, HMO/PPO, Medicare/Medicaid, and commercial plans.
  • Excellent communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong analytical ability to interpret insurance benefits and coverage summaries.
  • Night shift availability is mandatory.
