as an
Assistant Manager – Forecasting Analysis
. In this role, you'll play a key part in shaping medium- and long-term demand forecasts that directly influence business planning and decision-making. Working closely with the Manager, you'll analyze historical data, test assumptions, and collaborate with Generation and Transmission teams to ensure forecasts align with organizational goals.
Candidates with a strong foundation in electrical engineering (preferred) and/or hands-on expertise in Excel modeling, and skills in Excel, Power BI, or other analytics tools are preferred.
Job Purpose
To support the Manager – Demand & Business Planning in refining demand forecasting strategies and ensuring their effective execution.
Specific Duties & Responsibilities
- Develop demand forecasts and grid-wise projections through detailed historical data analysis and advanced financial/statistical modeling.
- Build and maintain accurate demand forecasts, while also exploring new methods based on actual utilization trends and budget variances.
- Coordinate with relevant stakeholders for monthly data collection and consolidation.
- Assist in the design and implementation of risk models to assess the impact of demand disruption factors.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align demand forecasts with business strategies and objectives.
- Support the development and upkeep of long-term business plans by contributing to trend analysis and data-driven insights.
- Conduct analytical research on industry's best practices and evaluate the impact of emerging technologies, regulatory changes, macroeconomic trends (e.g., GDP, inflation), and evolving business models on KE's demand patterns.
- Facilitate the consolidation of Capex and Revex plans in alignment with organizational KPIs. Support data gathering efforts and ensure effective coordination with all stakeholders.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor of Electrical Engineering or ACCA Qualified, or MBA.
- 1–3 years of relevant professional experience in forecasting & data analysis, with a solid understanding of the fundamentals of electrical engineering.
- Strong understanding of financial/statistical modeling and demand forecasting concepts.
- Strong analytical, quantitative, and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in Excel; familiarity with Power BI, Python, or other analytics tools is preferred.
- Adaptability and willingness to learn industry-specific practices and regulations.
