The Application Engineer is responsible for developing technical and commercial proposals for water and wastewater treatment systems. This includes preparing designs, cost estimations, BOQs, and bid documents; reviewing client specifications; and coordinating with engineering, drafting, and sales teams to deliver optimized, accurate, and competitive technical solutions. The role bridges the gap between engineering design and sales execution, ensuring that customer requirements are effectively translated into viable, efficient, and compliant system proposals.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare designs, costing, and proposals for water and wastewater treatment systems according to customer requirements.
  • Review tender documents, including technical specifications, drawings, and project scope.
  • Prepare bid documents, including pre-qualification submissions, costing, and technical proposals, while supporting the sales team during the bidding process.
  • Support the detailed design and final submittal process after order confirmation.
  • Develop and verify BOQs for proposed and awarded projects.
  • Conduct technical and commercial comparisons of equipment and vendors to ensure cost-effectiveness and compliance.
  • Refine and maintain process design tools for improved accuracy and efficiency.
  • Coordinate with the drafting team to develop engineering drawings (Process Layouts, PFDs, P&IDs, GA Drawings, and Civil Outline Drawings).
  • Maintain accurate project records (quotes, correspondences, and design data) using company databases or CRM tools.
  • Prepare and present reports and presentations for management and stakeholders.
  • Assist in continuous improvement initiatives, offering process enhancement suggestions.
  • Visit client or project sites as needed for assessments and practical exposure.
  • Perform any additional tasks or assignments as directed by management.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Chemical, Mechanical, Environmental, or Process Engineering from a recognized institution.

Experience:

  • 2–5 years of experience in application engineering, process design, or technical proposal development for water/wastewater treatment systems.
  • Familiarity with reverse osmosis (RO), ultrafiltration (UF), softening, demineralization, wastewater recycling, and ETP/STP systems is highly desirable.
  • Experience in tender/bid documentation, BOQ preparation, and vendor evaluation.
