Assistant Manager Automation

The Assistant Manager Automation will lead the execution and management of industrial automation projects with a strong focus on PLC (Programmable Logic Controllers), SCADA (Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition), DCS (Distributed Control Systems), and power automation solutions. This role is responsible for ensuring project delivery within scope, timeline, and budget while maintaining high standards of technical quality and client satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities:

• Oversee the complete lifecycle of automation control system projects from initiation to commissioning and handover.
• Develop project plans, schedules, budgets, and resource allocation to ensure successful project execution.
• Ensure project milestones and deadlines are met, and report on project progress to stakeholders.
• Manage project risks and implement contingency plans as necessary.
• Provide technical leadership in PLC, SCADA, DCS, and power automation solutions.
• Design and implement automation strategies to meet client specifications and industry standards.
• Oversee system architecture design, programming, configuration, and testing of control systems.
• Lead troubleshooting and problem resolution during project execution and commissioning.
• Lead and mentor a team of engineers, technicians, and support staff involved in automation projects.
• Facilitate technical training and development of team members.
• Assign tasks and monitor the performance of project teams, ensuring adherence to quality standards.
• Serve as the primary point of contact with clients, ensuring clear communication on project status, issues, and solutions.
• Work closely with clients to understand their needs, propose solutions, and manage expectations.
• Develop and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including vendors, contractors, and internal teams.
• Ensure compliance with industry standards, safety regulations, and internal quality control procedures.
• Implement best practices for system integration, testing, and commissioning to ensure high-performance automation solutions.
• Perform quality checks and audits on ongoing projects to maintain the highest technical standards.
• Monitor and control project costs, ensuring projects are delivered within approved budgets.
• Assist in the preparation of cost estimates and bid proposals for new projects.
• Identify cost-saving opportunities without compromising on quality.
• Ensure all technical documentation, manuals, and project reports are properly maintained.
• Generate regular progress reports for senior management and clients, detailing project status and any technical challenges encountered.

Qualifications:

• Education
  : Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical, Electronics, or Automation Engineering, or related field.
• Experience
  : Minimum of 7-10 years of experience in industrial automation with proven project management experience.
• Extensive hands-on experience with PLC, SCADA, DCS, and power automation systems.
• Experience in leading large-scale industrial automation projects in sectors like manufacturing, utilities, and energy.

Skills
:

• Strong technical proficiency in programming and configuring automation systems such as Siemens, Allen-Bradley, Schneider Electric, or similar.
• Proficient in developing control system architecture, HMI (Human-Machine Interface) design, and integration of automation systems.
• Excellent project management skills, including experience with project management software (e.g., MS Project, Primavera).
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
• Leadership and team management abilities.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills for stakeholder management.
