Key Responsibilities

Cloud Infrastructure Setup & Management

  • Deploy and maintain cloud infrastructure (AWS / GCP / Azure).
  • Design secure VPC, subnets, IAM roles, and access control.
  • Set up load balancers, autoscaling, and monitoring dashboards.

Data Handling & Backups

  • Configure secure databases (Postgres, MongoDB, or similar).
  • Automate 
    regular data backups
     with recovery testing (RPO/RTO).
  • Ensure data encryption at rest and in transit.
  • Implement storage lifecycle rules (e.g., archiving old logs to cheaper storage).

CI/CD Pipeline

  • Build robust CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions, Jenkins, GitLab CI).
  • Automate deployments for backend services and APIs.
  • Implement versioning, rollback, and blue-green or canary deployments.

Monitoring & Logging

  • Set up observability stack (Prometheus, Grafana, ELK, or CloudWatch).
  • Track API latency, error rates, fraud scoring throughput, etc.
  • Configure alerts for downtime or abnormal traffic spikes.

Security & Compliance

  • Implement secrets management (Vault, AWS KMS, etc.).
  • Enforce least-privilege policies, secure endpoints.
  • DDoS protection, firewall rules, WAF setup.

Backend Support (as needed)

  • Collaborate with backend engineer on API deployments.
  • Write/review code for API integrations, microservices, or data pipelines.
  • Optimize performance of backend services in production.

Required Skills

  • Proficiency in Python / backend (enough to debug & extend APIs).
  • Strong database knowledge (Postgres/MySQL, NoSQL).
  • Strong in 
    AWS/GCP/Azure
     services (EC2, S3, RDS, Cloud Functions/Lambda, etc.).
  • Infrastructure as Code (Terraform / CloudFormation).
  • CI/CD experience with Docker + Kubernetes.
  • Knowledge of 
    cloud security best practices
    .

Nice to Have

  • Experience with 
    streaming pipelines
     (Kafka/Kinesis/PubSub).
  • Familiarity with 
    ML model deployment
     (SageMaker, Vertex AI, Dockerized models).
  • Previous work in 
    fintech/e-commerce data
     pipelines.

This position will be offered on a 
service-based contract
, with compensation structured between 
PKR 80,000 to PKR 140,000 per month
, depending on the candidate's experience and skill set. The contract arrangement ensures flexibility while maintaining clear deliverables and expectations, allowing both the company and the developer to focus on achieving measurable progress on the project.
