About the Role:

The Loss Prevention Officer is responsible for ensuring all cash is accurately tracked, all reported staff hours are legitimate, and that there is no internal loss or misuse of resources. This role also involves working closely with the Stock Controller to help identify any stock-related issues.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Monitor customer transactions using CCTV and till data to ensure all payments are received and correctly recorded
  • Investigate cash discrepancies and escalate concerns to the management team
  • Review staffing records and confirm that reported hours match actual presence and activity instore
  • Use CCTV footage and shift schedules to verify employee attendance and prevent ghost staff
  • Conduct routine checks to ensure compliance with company procedures related to cash, payroll and operations
  • Work alongside the Stock Controller to spot irregularities in stock levels and potential shrinkage
  • Produce clear and regular reports on cash flow integrity, payroll accuracy and stock movements
  • Flag suspicious behavior, inefficiencies or process gaps that could lead to financial loss

Requirements:

  • Strong attention to detail and a methodical approach to reviewing footage, data and records
  • Experience with CCTV monitoring or loss prevention in a hospitality or retail environment
  • Basic understanding of cash handling, payroll and scheduling systems
  • Confidence to raise concerns firmly and professionally
  • High level of trust, discretion and ability to work independently
